If you’re planning on being at Gen Con in Indianapolis this year, or just in and around the Indianapolis area, why not meet up with other EverQuest fans?

The EverQuest Show is planning to meet up with other EverQuest and EverQuest II fans on Saturday August 3.

The informal gathering will be a very relaxing gathering after the busiest day of the convention, Saturday.

What is Gen Con?

Gen Con is the largest tabletop board gaming convention in North America, and caters to board gamers, video gamers as well as general pop culture. The convention hosts over 75,000 attendees each year.

This year, Gen Con is held August 1-4 in Indianapolis Indiana.

Saturday was chosen as it is a weekend and is usually the busiest Gen Con Day, and also the day of the costume parade which occurs in the convention center around 4PM.

While RSVP isn’t required, it is recommended to let Fading know you’re coming (Below).

Questions

What is the event?
A very informal meet up for a bite to eat at The Garage Food Hall in the hot new Bottleworks District of Indianapolis. Let’s chat about EQ and EQ2, then head over to Pins next door for pinball and duckpin bowling!

Who will be in attendance?
Fading from The EverQuest Show will be there, along with some additional EverQuest and EverQuest 2 guests. TBA.

Is Food Provided?
If you wish to dine, you’ll need to purchase your own food from one of over 20 food vendors!

How long will the event last?
We’ll spend a little time eating at The Garage before moving over to Pins. There is no set end time for the event, but a couple of hours is a good estimate. You can come and go as you please. Pins is right next door, so no travel is necessary.

Do I need a Gen Con Badge of tickets to attend?
This event is not affiliated with Gen Con, and a badge or event tickets are not required. You don’t need to attend Gen Con at all to drop by and meet up!

Are games (Pinball and duckpin bowling) included for free?
Games are optional and are pay for play at Pins.

What is the Parking situation?
Parking on a busy Gen Con weekend at Bottleworks can be tricky. There is a Bottleworks Parking lot, as well as parking on nearby Mass Ave.

There is also a parking garage for the Bottleworks District. However, on the very busy Gen Con weekend, expect garage parking to be very limited.

Seriously consider other options such as rideshare, public transport or walking from other public parking nearby if able.

What if I have other questions?
Please reach out to Fading with any additional questions (Sign up form above)

Fading’s Gen Con Tips!

What days should I attend Gen Con?
Gen Con is a 4 day event, but each day is somewhat unique. However, Saturday tends to be the busiest day, as it is a weekend and the day on which the costume parade happens.

Sunday is a much lighter day, and is much more family oriented. Occasionally you can find good deals as vendors would prefer to discount their wares instead of hauling them back to their home base.

You can purchase 4 day badges, or badges for specific days.

What are the must sees at Gen Con?
Start with the main convention hall. This is a very large hall which includes vendors, game companies, artists, authors and more.

There are too many to mention, but the costume parade is always a blast and is free as it meanders through the entire convention hall on Saturday at 4PM

Other must-sees include Cardhalla, the balloon display, Lucas Oil Stadium, and be sure to check out the events booklet (online) for various shows and entertainment events.

Also want to meet up inside the convention for Gen Con?
If you’re a first time attendee to Gen Con, let me show you around! It can be a bit overwhleming if you’re not familiar with the convention center, or the way Gen Con works.

Please feel free to send Fading a message through this submission form. Even if you can’t make the Meet Up on Saturday evening!
