This is a huge news week for the EverQuest franchise. Tons of events, some great updates and still seeing new features appearing in Beta and test…

So here’s everything you need to know…for this very busy week!

The biggest news for most is going to be that the Community Extra Life incentives are LIVE in game right now! 

EXTRA LIFE BONUSES

These are some of the biggest xp, loot and rare bonuses that happen all year, and they’ll only be around for about a week, until November 19th. 

Thanks to all of YOUR donations, the community unlocked THIS tier of community incentives.

Darkpaw Games raised over XXX thousand dollars for the Extra Life charity event, which benefits Children’s hospitals.

But here’s the thing, while the community incentives have been tallied, and you can STILL donate through the end of the year to get those individual incentives.

EVERQUEST MONTHLY PATCH

Now, there is a patch on Wednesday, November 12th, which is why the Extra LIfe bonuses were extended an extra day to the 19th. And stick around to the end of this news update for our top ten list of things to do during extra life bonuses!

But that scheduled patch has some very interesting new features.

CASH LOOT

First, there’s a new item tag called CASH LOOT that’s going into the game.

The tag will be placed on items that have no other purpose but to be sold for plat.

And vendors will have a button for selling ALL the Cash Loot items. A nice way to increase that efficiency of your playtime.

EQ LOOT LOCKING

Also scheduled in the patch (but we’ll see if it makes the final cut by patch time) is something called Loot Locking. SHIFT RIGHT CLICKING, allows you to lock an inventory item in place, keeping it from being accidentally moved or sold. 

HOLIDAY EVENTS

With EverQuest 2 celebrating the 21st anniversary last week, the Champion’s Festival tasks are now active…

Last year’s tasks are back of course, but the new tasks this year, allow you to gain a little meat beast familiar.

EQ2 players are already familiar with this popular EQ2 NPC.

Head to Goru’Kar mesa to grab the Nedaria’s Landing instance. Complete a few tasks and get your familiar reward!

But watch out for Holly Windstalker! Don’t worry, no faction hits in the instance for killing her…over and over and over.

HEROES FESTIVAL

And The 21st anniversary celebrations continue in EQ2 as well, with the Heroes Festival…

All of the previous content has returned, including the Mischeva Play-Actors and their patchwork puppets. And there are some new items this year on the housing item and appearance gear merchants.

GUILD COALITIONS

We also got an update on Guild Coalitions and more information how that will work.

This is brand new to EQ2 and currently in Beta, launching with Rage of Cthurath, Guild Coalitions are a new way to band friends and other like-minded individuals from different guilds in one common place. 

While maintaining your current guild you can access one Coalition Guild per toon. 

With similar commands and structures as a normal Guild, and Coalitions can be set up with their own leader, officers and other tiers of membership. 

You can set your active guild and watch your guild tag switch between the two. Whatever guild you have set as your active guild will receive credit for Guild Achievements and other similar systems. 

A separate chat system and mail for guild coalitions is available along with a bank and guild hall that can be accessed by coalition members. 

Permissions for the coalition guild hall and bank are set just as in a regular guild. 

While the reviews from players have been mixed on this new guild system, it’s still in beta and won’t arrive on live until the launch of Rage of Cthurath in December.

EQ TATTOOS

Fangbreaker

For those enjoying the Shadows of Luclin expansion on Fangbreaker, on Wednesday November 13, the level cap will increase the level 60!

Nights of the Dead Wrapping

And Nights of the Dead is wrapping up tonight, But that just means it’s time for the Feast of Giving! The Thanksgiving themed celebration will start Wednesday and runs through the end of November.

Dragons Dragons Dragons and Giants Giants Giants is still happening through December 2, and then it’s time for Frostfell!
