The many fans of the EverQuest franchise can rejoice that an EverQuest fan event is still being planned!

In the Summer (2019) Summer Producer’s Letter, this entire paragraph was dedicated to the announcement of a still-planned fan event.
Getting Together
We are still working on planning a fan event (now probably next year to give EverQuest and EverQuest II fans and guilds time to prepare and plan). We’ll have some questions to ask the community about who might be interested in joining us for a weekend fan event, focused on the them, with Q&As, roundtables, and activities for gamers and roleplayers. Fun stuff!
We’ll start rolling out some questions and surveys as we move forward!
But we’ve been bait-and-switched before.
In January’s producer letter, event planning was mentioned and a Summer timeline was tentatively mentioned.
We also want to celebrate with you IRL! We’re working on pulling together an EQ fan event so we can hang out with you, our honored guests. Timing for that event is likely to be summer, but I’m hoping to announce more details on timing/location in March for those who want to plan ahead with your own family, guildies, and friends and join us!
However, that never materialized. Instead, the Comic-Con Museum 20th anniversary event was announced, only a few weeks before the event. Not nearly enough time for many fans to make plans.

While the Comic-Con event was a great success, and EverQuest was showcased in the esteemed way it should be, “the planning gods found you….Lacking.”
Let’s hope the upcoming event is planned well, with plenty of time and in a venue comparable to previous SOE Lives and Fan Faires. The fans crave and deserve it!
