To coincide with April Fool’s Day, the Merchant of Mischief, Fizzlethorp Bristlebane is the latest of the gods in Norrath to sent forth their Herald.

Adventurers can find the camp at the Eastern end of Rivervale.

The Herald themself is rather unique. We’ve seen the Heralds almost evolve with each new camp, from the first Herald who is lying down, to Heralds who are waving their arms and now to Bristlebane’s Herald who is performing a somersault.

It is incredibly hard to grab a decent screenshot of this Herald as he quite literally does not stand still for a moment. The Herald is wearing a costume in the style of a typical jester that would be seen around the festival of fools, which takes place in Norrath at the start of each April. Above their head, a glowing symbol of a jester cap rotates slowly.

The Herald themself has a large toothy grin and they hold a dramatic mask in their hand. It is a very eerie effect, especially surrounded by Nightbloods and Lamias in the Rivervale.

The camp for the moment is still being built, the Herald is currently still researching. However, the area also contains several large boxes and crates. Perhaps we’ll see what they contain later.

Herald Merchant

As with similar camps, this one also has a merchant, Cacklie of the Grand Prankster has many similar items for sale. Including the transportation ability available for a limited time.

Mercifully, Cacklie remains stationary, however, I do not think the position will do their back any good.

Some of the unique pieces that Cacklie has for sale include;

The Grand Prankster Celebration Altar.

A plushie of Fizzlethorpe Bristlebane

Plus, two unique weapon appearances.

The first being Fizzlethorpe’s Baton of the Trickster. Which is a one-handed weapon, a long baton with a rotating skull on the end. The skull wears the jester’s cap which is one of the icons associated with Bristlebane.

The second weapon skin is for a shield.

Fizzlethorpe’s Whirlygigg Wall is what I believe to be the first appearance item for a shield in any of the Herald’s camps. The blades around the edge of the shield rotate to give a little air of menace to the equipment.

White Lacquered Set

As usual, a piece of the white lacquered set is available at the camp. This one includes the White Lacquered Card Table.

Sweetums and Cheesecake

Two unique NPCs are also near to Cacklie and the Herald. Those being a Halfling male in a chef’s hat called Sweetums and a pink Bovoch called Cheesecake.

Hailing Sweetums opens an advanced research box where adventurers can take the opportunity to purchase and research Cheesecake.

It seems that with enough status points and cash, adventurers can spend 357 days researching a unique mount.

Currently, at the time of writing, Sweetums would only talk to a character that was level 125 and over.

Two Heralds will be setting up camp each month in 2024 to celebrate The Year Of Darkpaw. So far we’ve seen seven heralds and are anticipating the next one to arrive at the middle of April.
